All Women in the church

Find sojourners in the pilgrimage of faith — from spiritual seekers to leaders in the church.

What's on your mind and in your heart?

Join other members of AllWomen in the church to talk further about your thoughts, feelings, concerns, passions, inquiries, best practices or ministry ideas.  Start your own discussion and speak to women in the PC(USA) about your experience as a woman in ministry, your hopes for the church, your contributions to building up the Church of Jesus Christ, articles shown on this website, liturgy, calling, worship resources, helpful books, suggestions on juggling careers, children or aging parents..

Share your thoughts and opinions, while respecting other members' perspectives and contributions, as well.  Each thread, while focused on different topics, relates to the underlying theme of living out our faith as woman and as Presbyterians.  If conversations stray away from this theme or become disrespectful, a moderation will prod the conversation back on track.

Talk Back

There are fewer than two Korean women in Princeton's first year class this year and fewer than two Native American women in all of the Presbyterian seminaries.
Did you know that there are less Korean and Native American women in Presbyterian seminaries than there were just some years ago?  Why is this?  What are your feelings?  How can we encourage and support diverse women in ministry?  What is the role of the theological institution and of the recruitment offices.  Will we have even less Korean and Native American women pastors and leaders in the church if this trend continues?  Should we offer scholarships and/or encourage diverse women in their calls to ministry?

When a mother dies
What happens to us as women when a mother or loved one dies?  What responsibilities does it place on us as women?  For those of us who are thrown into this positions, how do we handle being the elder woman in our family systems?

"Calgon, take me away"
There was an old commercial advertising a bath oil and the slogan was "Calgon, take me away."  It was a call to a more peaceful environment (or possibly just a way to sell bubble bath!)  At any rate, many of us wish for more peaceful environments.  Many of us are juggling work (or looking for work), ministry, relationships, marriages, children, aging parents, emails, bills and cleaning our houses!  How do we as contemporary women navigate our CrazyBusy world?
